Travel to Wisconsin
I went to visit two of our customers, Sentry Insurance and Jeweler’s Mutual Insurance, in Wisconsin November 6-8. I went to Steven’s Point and Appleton, respectively. I traveled with my colleagues Arjun and Ken, who were excellent travel companions, and good colleagues to have a long due to their knowledge of the insurance industry and these particular customers. It was a tiring trip, with short connections in Chicago both ways, but a nice time. And decent weather!
Haley off to Camp!
Haley left for 12 days at Camp Newman on Wednesday th 18th. It was a quick turnaround after the last trip, but the kids are getting really good at packing these days. Katelyn couldn’t attend this year because even though we signed up for camp in March, her session was already full! She ended up first on the waiting list, but nobody canceled at the last minute so she’s stuck being at home with us.
Camp pictures here.
The kids are back
The kids arrived home from their Chicago+ trip on Saturday the 14th around dinner time.
Some pictures from the trip
You can see some pictures from the trip the kids are on with Glynis and Susan here.
Val’s home, Kids are gone
Dropped the kids off with Glynis & Susan at Amtrak, went shopping, then picked Val up at the airport.
The itinerary on the train has changed since they won’t stop in Grand Junction due to the fires in Colorado. Glynis is disappointed at not being able to go to Pike’s Peak.
Transition weekend
Kids leave on vacation with Glynis and Susan tomorrow, and Val arrives home a few hours later.
The vacation itinerary:
- Leave June 30th
- Arrive Grand Junction July 1st
- Stay in Moab, Utah July 1&2
- Stay in Woordland Park, Co July 3rd
- Stay in Denver, Co July 4 & 5th
- Train to Chicago July 6th, arriving July 7th
- Staying in Chicago July 7 – 12th
- Leaving Chicago the July 12th, Arriving back home July 14th
Should be a blast!
Val will finally get to see the kids!
Val’s been gone almost a week
Val left for Tokyo last Saturday, and should be on her way to Seoul soon. One more week until she’s back home. We miss her!
Back from Palm Springs, tired but happy
It was incredibly hot in Palm Springs, up to 106 on Sunday. But the Desire weekend is an amazing time that I wouldn’t miss for anything… already signed up for next year. I got home early Monday morning and just did nothing but chill out all day, watching TV and napping and drinking lots of water. What a delight!
Off to Palm Springs
Leaving later on today for the Desire weekend in Palm Springs. Should be great fun, although well over 100 degrees. Yikes!
Val’s home!
After a relatively uneventful flight from Rom to Frankfurt and home, Val arrived home on Sunday evening, predictably exhausted. Great to have her back… and she brought German chocolate!
