{"id":439,"date":"2012-09-28T21:12:53","date_gmt":"2012-09-28T13:12:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/marilynj.com\/familynews\/?p=439"},"modified":"2012-10-01T08:12:31","modified_gmt":"2012-10-01T00:12:31","slug":"happy-birthday-haley","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marilynj.com\/familynews\/?p=439","title":{"rendered":"Happy Birthday Haley!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Haley turned 12 on Tuesday the 25th!<\/p>\n<p>We started the day off with early morning bagels, where I made Haley put on a birthday hat and stuck a candle in her bagel while we sang Happy Birthday.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/marilynj.com\/familynews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/IMG_0987.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-458\" title=\"IMG_0987\" src=\"https:\/\/marilynj.com\/familynews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/IMG_0987-224x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"224\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/marilynj.com\/familynews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/IMG_0987-224x300.jpg 224w, https:\/\/marilynj.com\/familynews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/IMG_0987-764x1024.jpg 764w, https:\/\/marilynj.com\/familynews\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/IMG_0987.jpg 1936w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 224px) 100vw, 224px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>They announced her birthday (and two others) on the school radio broadcast, KTLR. She got lots of well-wishes from friends and a few cards in the mail, and a couple of T-shirts from me. We couldn&#8217;t go out to dinner that night like we usually would because that evening was the start of Yom Kippor. So the next day, after a long day of worship and fasting,\u00a0we ended up at Haley&#8217;s favorite restaurant, Lai Lai (also known as &#8220;Jimmy&#8217;s&#8221; for the name of the owner). We were a total of 15 people, and had a great time. Haley ended the day getting her last gift from me, a Dr. Who chess set.<\/p>\n<p>Her birthday party for her friends will be on the 6th. We decided to do that because a lot of kids at her school have birthdays around the same time so it&#8217;s hard to get kids to her party; we&#8217;ve had bad experiences with few attendees in previous years.
