On Thursday Val started talking about perhaps going out to dinner tonight, just the two of us. It was uncharacteristic of her to do logistics like that a day in advance, but I just thought it was sweet. We had a lovely sushi dinner and came home to a house that had been stealthily decorated by Kathie and Joanie. It says “Happy 50” all over my house, complete with streamers and banners and even a bit of glitter. A lovely way to start my special day, a bit early.<\/p>\n
